A Happy Running New Year

New Year’s day saw several Tynedale Harriers out racing on road and fell. Seven Harriers ran the Morpeth 11km road race, with Hugh Bingham first Tynedale home in 29th place overall and Joanne Lee was first Tynedale lady but also 2nd lady overall in the race and first VL35 – a great start to the new year for her! Results on the Morpeth Harriers website. Great photos from Balasz here.

Meanwhile four Tynedale Runners including one junior were running the aptly named Hillforts and Headaches fell race, a three mile uphill only race from Rothbury to the Beacon summit on the Simonside ridge. also there were other familiar Tynedale faces but in their NFR guise! A lovely day saw a record turnout for this popular race. Phil Vincent was first Tynedale home, in 9th place overall, with Ian Bromley was only 3 seconds behind. Report, photos and results on the NFR website.
