Simonside Cairns Fell Race

Five intrepid Tynedale Harriers: Phil Vincent, Neil Cassidy,  Rob Carter , Beth Gregory-Smith and Keith Lombard – (plus another two, Karen Robertson and Bernard Kivlehan, with their NFR ‘hats’ on) headed up to Rothbury for this infamous race. Suffice to say that the day wasn’t without incident, with Neil becoming too closely acquainted with a wooden boardwalk resulting in several hours in Wansbeck A&E and some 11 stitches in his forehead. Bernard and NFR colleague Glen McWilliams gallantly took Neil back to the start. Big thanks to them and best wishes to Neil for a quick recovery and a return to the fells!
