New members
New seniors can join up to three training sessions to give it a try. You will find out about the coaching and training we offer, as well as competition and social opportunities.
New juniors can attend up to three training sessions and attend an induction by a coach before they can join. We operate a waiting list as coaching places are limited. Our junior coaches are all DBS checked and UKA licensed.
New members should fill in this form. Our membership secretary will contact you with a link for payment.
Existing members
Existing members should renew in April via the England Athletics portal – log in here.
Fees
Yearly membership runs from 1st April to 31st March.
For the 2025/2026 season, our membership categories are as follows:
Seniors (18 and over) and Juniors (from 11-18 years) – £52
- Access to training sessions, including Wentworth Leisure Centre running track
- Subsidised races (eg NEHL XC)
- Includes affiliation to England Athletics
- Access to coaching
- Access to club events
- Subsidised EA training and qualifications
- Juniors – access to Mary McGee funding to support training
Second claim (Seniors and Juniors) – £35
For members who are already a first claim member of another athletics club
- Access to training sessions
- Access to coaches
- Access to club events
Mini U11 (8 to 11 years) – £7
- Members can compete under the Club’s name in U9/U11 competitions organised under UKA rules (e.g. NEHL XC has Under 11 races at most venues)
- The club does not offer training for Under 11 athletes, so this membership is ‘competition only’.
Payment
Payment is handled through the England Athletics online portal.

First claim club membership includes the following affiliation:
- England Athletics
- Northern Athletics
- Sport Tynedale
- Northumberland Athletics Network
Also race entries to the following leagues:
- North of England Track & Field League
- North East Young Athletes Development League
- North East Harrier Cross-country League
Your affiliation/entry to the above is completed/managed by the club on your behalf.
English Athletics
Competing members are registered with England Athletics (EA). You will be notified of your England Athletics number from EA directly via email, which you can use to enter certain races.
